Art that’s felt, rather than simply seen

The Pompous Poster Co. is a collection of evolving series, each with its own world. The Music Series, featured here, sets out to merge the invisible energy of sound with the visual energy of art, stirring something warm and felt rather than simply seen. A little Andy Warhol, a little Hatch Show Print, entirely its own thing.

The image features a colorful, illustrated portrait of a man with glasses and a beard, wearing a tan jacket and dark jeans, striking a dynamic pose with arms outstretched and legs apart. The background includes overlapping sketches of the same man in different poses, with vibrant colors such as purple, orange, green, and yellow, creating a lively, abstract effect.

ARTIST statement Scott Smith

For years I’ve treated being creative more as a curse than a superpower. Instead of embracing my brain’s inability to shut up, I spent too much time trying to fit into society’s neat little creative boxes. Spoiler: It didn’t work. I realized I don’t need a “title” or a “discipline” — I just need to make stuff. And this is some of that stuff.
